What is center of gravity of rectangle ?

The point through which the whole mass of the body acts, irrespective of the position of the body is known as centre of gravity .Which is designated as G symbol. The plane geometrical figures given below, which is have only areas but no mass .The centre of area of such figures is known as centroid or centre of gravity of the area of the body. it may be noted that every body has one , and only one, centre of gravity.

• The centroid of gravity ( G ) of a uniform rod is at its middle point.

• The centroid of gravity ( G ) of rectangle lies at a point where the three medians of the triangle intersect.

• The centroid of gravity ( G ) of triangle lies at a point where the three medians of the triangle intersect.
